God owns everything in the universe. We are all stewards.

Our prayers frequently seek material supply. When we ask God for physical things in prayer, he doesn’t mail packages from heaven to us. He uses other human beings or creatures on earth to answer our prayers. So it helps us to know that God owns everything. Bill Gates, Warren Buffet and all the richest people in the world are God’s stewards. They own nothing. God is the one who gives them the resources they have. When we stand to pray for God to meet our needs, it helps us to remember that God owns everything. Imagine the wealthiest cities in the world. The sky scrappers and the banking institutions. God owns them and controls them. God raises up kings and presidents and deposes them whenever he wants. The hearts of kings and presidents are in God’s hands and like a watercourse he directs them wherever he wants. Anytime that God wants, he can move anyone to do whatever he wants. Yes, he can move someone to come and help you meet that need. Is your need physical? He can send someone to help. Is your need spiritual? He can raise up someone to pray with you so that he can take the pleasure to answer. Here are some verses that show that God owns everything:
